What is Critical Care, and when might my pet need it?

Our Critical Care services support pets experiencing serious illness, injury, or medical conditions that require close monitoring and advanced treatment.

Critical care may be recommended for pets recovering from trauma, managing severe illness, or needing additional support beyond routine veterinary care. Our team evaluates each situation carefully and works with pet owners to determine the best treatment options for their companion.

Services and Medical Care

What veterinary services do you offer?

Winchester Veterinary Clinic provides a wide range of veterinary services for dogs, cats, pocket pets, birds, reptiles, exotic pets, and equine patients. Our Veterinary Services include wellness care, vaccinations, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, nutrition support, dermatology, critical care, laser therapy, boarding, grooming, and exotic pet medicine.

We focus on preventative care, but are also here to provide treatment options when pets experience illness, injury, or age-related changes.

Does my pet need professional dental care?

Yes. Professional dental care is an important part of maintaining your pet’s overall health. Dental disease can lead to discomfort, infection, and other health concerns if left untreated. Signs your pet may need a dental evaluation include bad breath, tartar buildup, changes in eating habits, difficulty chewing, drooling, or pawing at the mouth.

Regular dental examinations allow our team to identify concerns early and help protect your pet’s long-term health. Our Pet Dentistry services help evaluate your pet’s oral health to identify dental problems. If needed, we recommend appropriate care, such as cleanings or extractions.

What diagnostic services do you offer?

Our Diagnostics services help our veterinary team identify health concerns and create accurate treatment plans. Diagnostic testing may include laboratory testing, imaging, and other evaluations based on your pet’s symptoms and medical history.

Accurate diagnostics allow us to better understand what is happening inside your pet’s body and provide recommendations based on their specific needs.

How can laser therapy help my pet?

Laser Therapy is a painless, non-invasive treatment option that may be recommended as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for a wide variety of issues, such as injuries, inflammation, and arthritis, to name a few. It is also often used to help pets heal from wounds or surgery. It helps reduce discomfort, support healing, and improve recovery for certain conditions.

Like all treatments, laser therapy is recommended on a case-by-case basis, after your pet has been thoroughly diagnosed.

Do you treat exotic pets?

Yes. Winchester Veterinary Clinic provides Exotic Pet Care for pocket pets, birds, reptiles, and other unique companion animals.

Our patient roster includes:

  • Guinea pigs
  • Rabbits
  • Ferrets
  • Hamsters
  • Rats
  • Chinchillas
  • Gerbils
  • Sugar gliders

Exotic pets often have specialized healthcare requirements related to nutrition, housing, behavior, and medical care. Regular wellness visits allow our team to monitor your pet’s health and identify potential concerns early.

Do you offer boarding and grooming services?

Yes. Our Boarding & Grooming services provide convenient care options for pet owners who need support while traveling, working, or managing busy schedules.

Our team understands that every pet has different needs, and we strive to provide a comfortable environment while maintaining your pet’s routine as much as possible.

Preventative Care and Ongoing Support

Why are wellness exams and vaccinations important?

Routine wellness visits allow us to monitor your pet’s health, identify changes early, and provide preventative care recommendations based on their age, lifestyle, and risk factors.

During Wellness Care visits, we evaluate your pet’s overall health, discuss nutrition and parasite prevention, review vaccination needs, and answer your questions about maintaining your companion’s wellbeing.

How often should my pet see a veterinarian?

Most healthy adult pets should be seen by a vet at least once a year. Puppies, kittens, senior pets, and animals with ongoing medical conditions may require more frequent visits. We can recommend a schedule based on your pet’s age, health, and care needs.

Regular appointments allow our team to monitor changes over time, provide preventative care, and address concerns before they become more serious.

What payment options do you accept?

We offer several Payment Options to help make veterinary care more convenient for our clients. Our team can discuss available payment methods and financing options before your appointment so you understand your choices.

If you have questions about payment before your pet’s visit, please contact our team. We are happy to help you understand the options available.

Can I order my pet’s medication or food online?

Yes. Winchester Veterinary Clinic provides convenient options for requesting pet medications and pet food online. We also have an online store portal. All medication requests must be authorized and reviewed by a veterinarian before they are filled.

Our team is happy to help with questions about your pet’s prescriptions, dietary needs, or ongoing care recommendations.
