Things To Do With Your Dog This Year

Happy New Year! Are you starting out 2020 with a dog at your side? Why not include Fido in your resolutions? Read on as a Pickerington, OH vet lists some things to do with your canine buddy this year.

Learn Something New

Did you know that many dogs actually enjoy learning new things? If Fido hasn’t quite mastered basic doggy obedience yet, you’ll want to work on that. Otherwise, teach your furry pal a fun new trick. (Tip: Roll Over will always be adorable.)

Visit A Park

Going to new places is not only fun for Fido: it’s a great way for him to get both physical activity and mental stimulation. Take your pup to a new park this year, or visit a pretty trail with him. This is a great way to get some fresh air and exercise, and just spend some time with your canine companion.

Take A Nap

Life can get pretty hectic these days, so it’s important to make time to just relax. Every now and then, set aside an afternoon to just relax around the house with your furry buddy.

Play

Fido is super cute when he wants to play! Pick up some new toys for your four-legged friend this year, and indulge those adorable requests for doggy playtime. (Tip: aiming to play with your pet every day could be a great resolution for you!)

Visit The Vet

Although Fido may very well want to cross this one off the list, he’ll be much healthier—and therefore happier—with proper veterinary care. Keep up with your pup’s veterinary care needs!

Strike A Pose

Many of you have tons of cute pet pictures on your phones. Candid shots are great, but why not try to capture some really high-quality pics of you and your furry BFF? Enlist a friend or family member to help with the photo shoot.

Enjoy A Treat

If there’s one thing that all of our canine patients are enthusiastic about, it’s food. Although you don’t want to go overboard here, there’s nothing wrong with giving Fido a special treat now and then. Just stick to things you know are safe for your pooch.
