Therapeutic Laser Treatments
This amazing technology focuses infrared laser light deep into the targeted tissue, stimulating increased blood flow and decreasing the cells responsible for joint inflammation. The application of laser therapy reduces joint pain and is one of the most effective drug-free arthritis treatment options in our arsenal.
Take a look at what one of our patient families has to say:
Our dog Cooper has been going to Winchester Veterinary Clinic for 8 years .Cooper is a Puggle (pug/beagle mix). He has slipped a disc twice in the last 2 years. The last time that Cooper slipped a disc (a few months ago), he seemed worse than the first time and was in excruciating pain. Dr. Lynn Grinstead suggested Therapeutic Laser Treatments. We purchased a six pack of treatments and they have helped Cooper tremendously. Cooper gets very nervous when he goes to the vet but seems less anxious when he gets his laser therapy. Not only does the therapy help Cooper but he seems to like the treatments when he gets them.
I was impressed with the positive results and I would recommend laser treatment for animals that need deep tissue therapy for slip discs or any other joint pain that an animal is having.
I wasn’t sure at first if it would work but it seems to really help Cooper!
A slip disc is very serious and could cause major issues and we want Cooper around for a very long time and to ensure that and as a precaution so that he doesn’t have any further disc issues we will continue to get laser therapy treatments for him.
Sincerely, Kim and John Ross
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Transfusions
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is an innovative treatment strategy that uses the patient’s own platelets containing powerful anti-inflammatory cells to naturally decrease inflammation. We have experienced impressive results with our patients and are proud to be one of the few veterinary facilities in Ohio offering this advanced treatment option.
Ultimately we believe that just because a patient is old, doesn’t mean he or she should have to live in pain. We also firmly believe in using the minimal amount of drugs necessary to keep our animal friends comfortable. Finding and using alternative therapies for arthritis has allowed us to achieve this goal.
If your furry family member suffers from osteoarthritis or any other joint problems, our alternative therapy options might be a perfect solution. Give the experience, compassionate team at Winchester Veterinary Clinic a call today to learn more or to schedule a consultation.
